Obtaining your black belt is a challenge but it’s an amazing journey that teaches you about Japanese culture and the history behind martial arts as well as learning some very cool skills so enjoy the process.
What makes Seal Martial Arts unique is our comprehensive curriculum teaching Kobudō (Traditional Japanese Martial Arts), FMA (Filipino Martial Arts) and Combatives (Reality Based Self Defence). Our Kobudō is not derived from Okinawan Karate but the 9 Ryuha (Schools) of the Takamatsuden primarily Kukishin Ryu Happo Hikenjutsu (9 Demon Gods School Of 8 Sword Arts) and Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu (School Of The Hidden Door).
We are the only martial arts school in Rugby that holds Live Blade Insurance to teach the use of real weaponry for test cutting (Suemonogiri/Tameshigiri) and that teaches Shuriken (Spike), knife and axe throwing. We teach a total of 35 different traditional weapons systems in the Seal Martial Arts Dojo such as Sojutsu (Spear), Kenjutsu (Sword), Nunchaku (Flails), Karambit,, Tomahawk and many more!

If you are ready to embark on a journey of self discovery and martial arts mastery then Seal Martial Arts is for you!
We offer lessons for adults (16+) and also host the Real Mini Ninjas for students aged 4+ years old and the Shadow Warriors lessons for students aged 8+ years old. The syllabus for the junior students is a revised version of the adult syllabus to enable the junior students to develop solid foundations for further study as they grow.
Items in the starter packs vary according to which lesson package you choose as outlined on the home page. Students who sign up for the Unlimited Package are not required to pay the membership fee simply sign up and you are ready to start training. Membership fee discount only applies to the Unlimited Package.
We support the students in whatever endeavour they are pursuing and teach them valuable life skills that will make them positive and confident individuals. Sensei Jamie Seal (8th Dan) is the owner and head instructor of the Seal Martial Arts Dojo which has been running in Rugby for almost 10 years but also owns a print and embroidery company, works with Cold Steel and other large outdoor equipment specialists, Is a known weapons specialist in the martial arts industry, Has his own licensed system of Shurikenjutsu, Hosts a podcast, Runs UK Martial Arts Seminars and works with some of the best martial arts instructors in the UK so productivity and mindset is what we are all about!
We have this concept in the dojo called being Buyu (A Martial Brotherhood), The dojo is a community of like minded people who will welcome you into the fold. Often lifelong friendships are formed in the dojo over the years of training and it can open up a whole new world of cool things to experience! Trust me its one hell of a ride!
